“I started training with Jonny over a year ago. Initially, I was not very convinced by the idea of a personal trainer- I thought I could just go to group classes and follow YouTube videos but what usually ended up happening was I would exercise for a week or two then get very busy and not exercise for a month. So I decided to give it a try since I felt my body was getting very weak and I put on a lot of weight since coming to NY/NJ. Looking back I wish I did this earlier! I am a lot stronger- Jonny tracks the weights I do every week and I am lifting at least 2x more than what I could do when I first started. Although I have been dieting most of my life, Jonny completely transformed how I think about food and how people gain/lose weight. What is most obvious to me is the amount of stuff I can do outside the gym I couldn't before do a 4-hour hike with no problem I would not been able to do this last year at all I am definitely a lot stronger. "I went to Jonny because I wanted to get in better shape. I was sick of being in "okay" shape or convincing myself that I was. I'd had some experience working out before but I decided, if I was going to get back into it, I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. The last thing I wanted was an injury. And, to be fair, I needed some extra motivation to get off the couch. Jonny provided all that and more. When we first met, we set realistic goals and expectations. “I was hesitant to train with an instructor even when I wanted to meet my fitness goals very badly. I had this “stereotypical alpha yelling at my face” image whenever I pictured an instructor. Jonny changed all that. He is very understanding of an individual’s needs and caters to them with customized plans.
